AUA 2024 in San Antonio: Innovation, Insight, and Global Connection in Urological Care
Global Connection in Urological Care
We were proud to join the global urology community this past May at the 119th Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA) in San Antonio, Texas—a landmark event that brought together thousands of professionals committed to advancing the science and practice of urology.
Held at the Henry B. González Convention Center, AUA 2024 delivered on its promise: to provide a world-class platform for education, collaboration, and cutting-edge innovation.
A Global Gathering with Purpose
This year’s meeting drew attendees from across the United States and around the world. Top U.S. states represented included New York, California, Illinois, Florida, and Texas, while international visitors arrived from Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Japan, and Spain—underscoring the global influence and reach of the AUA.
The meeting attracted a wide variety of attendees, from academic and hospital-based professionals to private practice urologists, residents, fellows, researchers, and advanced practice providers. This diversity created a unique environment where clinical experience, scientific inquiry, and emerging technology converged.
Showcasing Innovation in the Science & Technology Hall
The Science & Technology Hall—a cornerstone of the AUA Annual Meeting—was a true hub of engagement. Designed as an "education destination," it featured hands-on demonstrations, interactive displays, and product theaters introducing the latest in diagnostics, surgical tools, imaging, and procedural equipment.
We were honored to be among the exhibitors showcasing new technologies that support better outcomes in urological care, and we had the opportunity to speak directly with physicians, residents, and decision-makers about the tools that are shaping the future of the field.
Among the most in-demand technologies at this year’s show:
- Procedural equipment (50%)
- Diagnostic imaging tools (46%)
- Medical supplies and treatment systems
- Large capital purchases such as robotic systems
With over 21,000 leads generated at AUA 2023, and another strong turnout this year, the value of in-person engagement was clear. Attendees weren’t just browsing—they came with a clear interest in evaluating tools and solutions to bring back to their practices.
Meeting Today’s Needs—and Shaping Tomorrow’s Practice
Urologists attending AUA 2024 came with diverse clinical interests, including:
- Oncology (Prostate, Kidney, Bladder)
- Endourology and Urolithiasis
- Voiding Dysfunction and BPH
- Sexual Health and Infertility
- Technology, Imaging, and Evidence-Based Medicine
A significant portion of attendees—more than 40%—are purchasing decision-makers in their organizations, making the Annual Meeting not only a hub for education but also for meaningful business conversations.
AUA’s Legacy and Looking Ahead
As the largest gathering of urologists in the world, the AUA Annual Meeting continues to raise the bar for what’s possible in specialty medicine. For 119 years, the AUA has been committed to excellence in urological education, and this year’s event was no exception.
The energy, engagement, and innovation on display in San Antonio reaffirmed why this meeting remains the premier event in the field.
We’re grateful to everyone who visited us, shared insights, asked questions, and explored what’s next in urology. We look forward to continuing the conversations and collaborations well beyond the exhibit hall.
